Help me with books for my mom
My mom loves to read, but she's also a very pragmatic person. She doesn't like big showy gifts. It's her 60th birthday on January 2, and I already bought her a trip to Korea with her sisters.
For Christmas, I know she'd like nothing more than a nice big collection of books to entertain her for a few months. She's enjoyed most of the books from my collection the last few months, particularly: Kite Runner, Marley & Me, Freakonomics, The Tipping Point, Bringing Down the House. She's fluent in English so she has no problem with them.
Any other recommendations so that I can go to Barnes & Noble in the next few weeks to grab some of these?
Some ideas I've gotten: The Memory Keeper's Daughter, What the Dog Did, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Interpreter of Maladies.

The Glass Castle.
Poisonwood Bible.
Time Traveler's Wife.
Secret Life of Bees.
And btw it's "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" not Sunflower. How un-Asian are sunflowers?
I'm reading Devil in the White City and I'm liking it very much. And a fave of mine is The Namsake.
